Nanomachines to clean up oil spills in water

ICN to be represented at UAB-CEI’s 1st Workshop on Nanomedicine

Jordi Reverter, Technology Transfer Manager at ICN, is on the Scientific Committee of the Workshop, to be held on 5 June on the Bellaterra campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

ICN Group Leader named editor of Biosensors and Bioelectronics

Prof Arben Merkoçi, who leads ICN’s Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group, has just been named one of ten editors at the prestigious, high-impact journal.

ICN2 to have Director by late May

The five candidates will be interviewed on 23 and 24 May.

Gold nanoparticles and Cisplatin: a promising new cancer treatment

Nanotargeting and Ferrer sign agreement to develop the treatment, based on the work of ICN Group Leader Víctor Puntes and colleagues at other centres.

The quantum Hall effect and graphene nanoscrolls: mystery solved!

Publishing in Physical Review Letters, ICN Group Leader Stephan Roche and colleagues explain why observation of the quantum Hall effect in suspended graphene has proven surprisingly difficult.

ICN Director interviewed on radio station COMRàdio

Prof Jordi Pascual was the guest on the latest edition of COMRàdio’s science programme “Eureka!”, hosted by Mònica López

Nanomachines to clean up oil spills in water

ICN Group Leader Arben Merkoçi, Prof Joseph Wang at UCSD, and co-workers report in ACS Nano the development and testing of “microsubmarines” that remove oil from contaminated water.
